This year we are going back to Big Sky, Montana. After much debate Big Sky came in first because it had a bunch of places on VRBO (http://www.vrbo.com) and at a decent price. Telluride and Park City were on the list but expense was more of a factor this year than others.
We actually got on the road at a decent time this year - Steven and Raymond both have jobs and Steven is seriously challenged in the 4th dimension, so I had pretty low expectations - but we were in front of steve’s place loading up the car right around 1:30 - I managed to screw up this temporal advantage later but that’s me. Ray has a new car and she was the vehicle of choice for this years trip - if we have 4 people we do 2 cars but when we are three we need to fit into a confined space.
Ray’s new infinity is quite confined - to the point where my big shaggy sheepskin lined bomber jacket is sitting in Steve and Cynde’s place - no room at the inn. I’ll grab a phone picture to show the near limit packing that went into us being able to hit the road - it was close. Still we made it and were rolling but - NO CAFFIENE…
So we (OK, I decided) that we needed to find a Peet’s, which we did in Solano. Don’t do it. The roads around the Westfield Mall are designed to take you in and never let you out - I think we blew about an hour of our advantage to grab a latte and a PS/3 game. I suspect this pissed off Ray more than he was willing to admit but I really needed caffiene.
Other than that and a quick leg stretch, Ray did the trip to Sparks in one - not extreeme but pretty hard core. Got to ride in the front and the back and the car is sweet - we’ll probably switch out during our roll across Nevada today to Wendover by the Flats.
Anyway - gotta 3S - Here’s a picture from my hotel room, which other than the view is pretty comfy - ish.
